Our premises was built as a church in the 1850s and has been internally refurbished to become a music recording studio. Although the building is over 173 years old it is our ongoing commitment to make our building and services as accessible and inclusive as possible, removing and reducing barriers to visiting us.

91, 41 and W7, W5, W3 have bus stops 150m from The Church Studios. There is step fee access from the bus stops to The Church Studios, some of the routes have controlled and uncontrolled crossing points.

Alternative entrance
The Church Studios is located near a busy traffic junction; we can offer a calmer, quieter entrance to the rear of the studios that is accessed from our car park. To arrange to use this entrance please contact us on +44 (0)20 8347 6784 or enquiries@thechurchstudios.com
There are 2 small steps down to the rear entrance, the colour contrast of the nosing on the 1st step is good, however the 2nd step does not have colour contrasting nosing. There are no handrails on these steps. This route is narrow with a clear width of 680mm.
Wheelchair and Physical Access
There is a small step to enter the venue. The step does not have a contrasting edge. There are no grab or handrails to assist visitors who have limited mobility. To inform reception that you have arrived you can either contact the team on +44 (0)20 8347 6784 or use the intercom system, which is positioned to the right-hand side of the door. The door handle is positioned on the left-hand side of the door and the door opens inwards.
Studio 1
Studio 1 is a 158SqM recording studio on the first floor, it incorporates a studio space, 2 booths, a control room, a toilet and a balcony. The general max. occupancy is 40-45 people.
There is currently no step-free access to Studio 1. From the reception there are 2 flights of stairs comprising 27 steps to access Studio 1. The steps have colour contrasting handrails on both sides. The colour contrast between the front edge of the step and the tread is good.
Toilet facilities
Studio 1’s toilet is a gender neutral toilet, it is located off the studio space. The toilet cubicle is 1.5m x 1.24m. There is step free access from the studio to the toilet. Access to the studio itself is not step free.
Studio 2
Studio 2 is a 39SqM recording studio on the ground floor incorporating a live room, booth, lounge, control room and a toilet. The general max. occupancy is 20-25 people.
There is step free access to the live room from the reception. There are 4 steps to negotiate to enter the control room, lounge, booth and toilet. The colour contrast between the front edge of the steps and the treads is good. The steps do not have handrails. There is a further single step to enter the booth, the front edge of the single step does not contrast in colour with the tread, the single step does not have handrails.
Toilet facilities
Studio 2’s toilet is located adjacent to the booth, it is a gender neutral toilet with a step-up shower facility. The toilet cubicle is 2m x 1.6m. From the live room to the toilet there are 4 steps to negotiate.
Studio 3
Studio 3 is a 22SqM recording studio on the ground floor incorporating a writing room, a booth and a toilet. The general max. occupancy is 5-6 people.
There are in total 10 steps to negotiate to enter Studio 3, comprising 3 separate flights. The colour contrast between the front edge of the steps and the treads is good. Some of the steps have handrails, some do not. The width of the doorway leading into the booth is 675mm.
Toilet facilities
Studio 3’s toilet is located off the writing room, it is a gender neutral toilet with a step-up shower facility. The toilet cubicle is 2.4m x 1.6m. There is step free access from the writing room to the toilet.
Additional Access Information
Assistance animals
You are very welcome to bring your assistance animal. We can provide a drinking bowl for your animal. The most convenient spending area for your animal is at Parkland Walk located just 400m from The Church Studios.
Accessible toilet
We currently do not have wheelchair accessible toilets at The Church Studios. However, there is a Public Accessible Toilet located less than 100m from The Church Studios. This accessible toilet does not require a code or a RADAR key. It is open to the public from 9am – 5pm, 7 days a week. It has grab rails and is a left-handed transfer toilet.
The nearest Changing Places toilet is located at National Youth Theatre which is approximately a 9 minute drive.

Sunday Closed all day
Induction loops
We don’t currently have an induction loop at our reception.
